Shakespeare in Paradise on the move

Shakespeare in Paradise on the move

Shakespeare in Paradise continues making international connections. In January, three members of our executive team will travel to St. John’s, Newfoundland for the Shakespeare Theatre Association Conference. Nicolette Bethel, Delores Adderley and Dorian Mckenzie will attend the week-long conference.

In June, another group from Shakespeare in Paradise will again travel to Prague for the Prague Shakespeare Company's Summer Intensive. A four-week or six-week program of training with some of the world’s top theatre teachers and directors. The students this year will be Hartman Brown II, who recently played ‘Luke’ in James Baldwin’s “The Amen Corner” and Dorian McKenzie, the theatre’s Box Office Manager and Dundas Assistant Manager.

Prague veterans Jovanna Hepburn and Patrice Francis will be returning as faculty members, and both will also have acting roles in productions as well as touring with the company.

Philip A. Burrows and Nicolette Bethel will return as directors for a second year.

This program is open to all interested theatre practitioners. Persons who are interested can take advantage of an early 15% discount which is available until December 25th. There are scholarships that are also available, but registration will need to happen soon to take advantage of available discounts.

Information about the program can be found here:

If you have questions, feel free to contact us at Shakespeare in Paradise and we will be more than happy to answer them. If there is a question we can’t answer, we can put you in touch with someone who can.

Both this program and the city of Prague will make for an incredible experience. All the students who have already attended the program will attest to that.
