Peace of Mind

My son Chris shot a nice pic of this beautiful yacht off the coast of Nassau, Bahamas. He used his DJI Mini 2 Ultralight Drone. Chris was standing on shore on Nassau while flying his drone to this yacht which was at least a mile away on the sea. You can view the Baha Mar Resort at Cable Beach in the distance.

The pic was chosen for an ad in the Bahamasair In-Flight airline magazine. Congrats son.

Nassau Public Library

The Nassau Public Library is an octagonal shaped building that is located at the southern end of Parliament Square that borders Shirley Street. I was constructed as a jail in 1797 and was the first building to be constructed in Parliament Square. In 1879, it was converted to a library, reading room, and museum. The small prison cells which once housed prisoners are now used to store books, charts, Arawak artifacts and a collection of historic prints, colonial documents and newspapers. Admission is Free. Bay St. Walk, Nassau, Bahamas.

I took a walk in my hometown along Bay St., Nassau, Bahamas. The cruise ships were in port today so we welcomed many visitors, all soaking in the sunshine as they walked, shopped, toured on rented ATVs and frolicked on the beach. :)

First I passed Junkanoo Beach with the brightly coloured stalls and our visitors enjoying themselves relaxing, tanning and swimming.

Then onto Margaritaville Beach Resort and The Pointe Finacial Tower and Marina.

Next I continued walking east on Bay St. past the historical British Colonial Hotel which opened in 1924.

I arrived at Pompey Square, location of Pompey Museum, which focuses on slavery in The Bahamas and our indigenous people the Arawak. Slaves were actually sold at this location.

I then stepped over to Prince George Wharf for a shot of Senor Frogs and a tugboat pulling into port.

I took an hour and a half walking and shooting and captured 244 pics and vids altogether.

"The Bahamas’ poverty rate is comparable to some of its Caribbean neighbors. Studies found that 12.5% of the population is living under the poverty line with under $5,000 a year. Many of these households support children." - Borgen Project
