What happens when idealism and pragmatism clash, and the future of a nation hangs in the balance?

Henry James, Bahamian Director of Cultural Affairs, gives a sensational address to the United Nations General Assembly on the anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade, embarrassing Mallory King, the Bahamian Prime Minister. King vows to take his revenge, and sets in motion a plot to destroy James. The instrument of that destruction is Delilah Lockhart, a young woman appointed to work closely with Henry James as his Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs. But the plot backfires, as many plots do.

Small Axe was written by Nicolette Bethel. It premiered in Shakespeare in Paradise 2017 on October 2, and featured Jonico Pratt, Sekani Nash, and Rukenya Demeritte-Nash.
