National Cleanup Initiative Includes the Schools

Minister of the Environment and Housing, the Hon. Romauld Ferreira launched his ‘Be a Hero’ national cleanup campaign with school visits at T.A. Thompson Junior High School, Gregory Street, and L.W. Young Junior High School, Bernard Road, at the start of the school day on Monday morning.   At school assemblies he encouraged young people to play an important part in creation of clean, green living environments in their communities.

The Ministry of the Environment and Housing, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Education, began the initiative in October, seeking to foster a greater sense of pride in cleaner, safer environments.  Minister Ferreira pointed out that statistics support the link between clean, green spaces and environments, and safe communities, and during the school visits he speaksto students about the importance.  Read more >>
