Royal Caribbean Is Building A $200 Million Private Island

Would you consider a day at a waterpark in the Bahamas, surrounded by some of the world’s most pristine beaches and bright blue ocean waters, a "perfect day?" If so, 2019 is bringing good things your way.

Royal Caribbean International is giving its tiny Bahamas island, Coco Cay, a $200 million facelift. In the past, Coco Cay has been known as a relaxing getaway, where Royal Caribbean cruise passengers disembark to snorkel and swim with surprisingly large stingrays. Such modest respite, though, may be a thing of the past at Coco Cay. Royal Caribbean is transforming the island into the first of its Perfect Day Island Collection, a series of exclusive private island destinations set in iconic locales around the world.
