Locals making lasting impact in Abaco

It was about 13 months ago that a group of St. Augustine volunteers responded to the distress in the Bahamas caused by Hurricane Dorian.

What they didn't realize at the time was that the disaster relief mission would turn into a long-term effort to assist the people on the Abaco Islands.

Although it was a dud here in Northeast Florida, Dorian was a like a wrecking ball in the Bahamas, and Hope Town in the Abaco Islands took a fierce pounding in September 2019.  Read more >>
