You may have seen Ciara on her sexy bucket list baecation for carnival in Rio, Brasil, but when it comes to who holds the crown – make no mistake that Trinidad Carnival is the greatest show on earth. Held annually during the week leading up to Lent, carnival in Trinidad is a cultural event celebrating the freedom and emancipation of African slaves on the island.
Trinidad Carnival is not for the faint of heart. The seemingly endless fetes, including Soca Brainwash and Caesar’s Army’s AMBush, go literally from sunup to sundown and require massive amounts of stamina. The days of feteing all lead up to the main event – Carnival Tuesday. Marked by showstopping colorful costumes adorned with feathers and jewels, groups of people of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds take to the streets to live their best soca filled lives. Read more >>
