It’s time to Run …like a REAL Business!

Dear Reader,

I had a great “discussion” with a friend the other day about running a business. We were talking about Government owned compared to Publicly owned companies, and how they run. The friend felt that the Government should own our major ports, public utilities, etc.…. I was in disagreement.

It’s not that I don’t believe government can’t run business, but its pretty common knowledge that most governments, no matter how much they try, bend to some political influence. Hence, why in this day and age I have no issue with privatizing businesses – as that’s what they are – businesses.

Govt must move swiftly to defend children against abuse
The agonising suffering experienced by victims of child abuse and their loved ones cannot continue to be tolerated in this society. Rights Bahamas calls upon the government to move as swiftly as possible to enforce Marco’s Law, deploy Marco’s Alert and create a Sex Offenders Registry.
In prioritising this issue, the government must of course take every precaution to ensure that the rights of accused persons are protected; they remain innocent until proven guilty and we must not give in to a witch hunt mentality.
