Miami HEAT Team President Pat Riley Arrives Bahamas Ahead of team for Training Camp 2013

NASSAU,  Bahamas (September 28, 2013) – The Sunday arrival of Miami HEAT Team President, Pat Riley sets in motion the much heralded visit of the  NBA Basketball Champions  for the team’s 2013 Training Camp to take place in the Islands Of  The Bahamas, October 1st –4th.

Riley’s team which include a number of sports superstars such as  LeBron James and Dwayne Wade,  will begin their 2013 training camp, Tuesday, October 1st  at the luxurious Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.

The Training Camp in The Bahamas will be both exciting and historic and will be the first time the Miami HEAT organization has ever conducted training outside of the United States.  Additionally, the team’s visit will come on the heels of their clinching a back to back NBA championship and will serve as a launch pad for them as they enter the race towards the challenge of a three peat.

It was Pat Riley who brought about the winning HEAT’s "Big 3"   combination of LeBron James,  Chris Bosh  and  Dwyane Wade.  Riley’s successful grouping of the three saw the HEAT beat the Oklahoma City Thunder  in 2012.  The HEAT repeated the feat in 2013, defeating the San Antonio Spurs.

Riley, is the first and only   North American to win a NBA Championship as a player, a coach and an executive.

As excitement mounts in The Bahamas, the Minister of Tourism the Honorable Obie Wilchcombe said of the Training Camp, “It is only fitting that such a world championship team as HEAT would choose to  train in The Bahamas at a time that The Bahamas is positioning  itself  as a world class sporting destination.”

“The HEAT and The Bahamas make a winning team, and their visiting our country is a win, win for both the HEAT organization and The Bahamas.  The team get to visit their nearest offshore neighbor, and we get to host them and expose them to  our unique culture that is our music, our food,  and the thousands of warm  friendly Bahamians who are looking forward to giving them a sunshine welcome.”

HEAT Training Camp 2013 in The Bahamas, will be the most impressive sporting initiative to date, to take place through The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism’s Sports Department under the leadership of Sports Tourism Director, Greg Rolle.
