Bahamas Minister of Tourism, The Honourable, Obie Wilchcombe said that “The Bahamas Ministry Of Tourism is looking to build a viable Sports Tourism program that will position the destination as a sporting mecca but also create a selling position intended to not only attract major/minor league groups but to facilitate the staging of some of the world’s most historic athletic events and tournaments.”
“The government and people of The Bahamas look forward and stand ready to host the championship team that represents the type of sporting groups that will assist in showcasing our country as a sporting haven,” the Minister said.
The NBA championship team, following its Training Camp in The Bahamas will be opening their regular season Oct. 29 against the visiting Chicago Bulls.
