(NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS)… Local singers will belt out their Sunday best in front of a television and studio audience in hopes of winning a recording contract, their own music video for their single, and $5,000 cash when 242Untapped premiers next month in The Bahamas.
The show is the brainchild of up and coming media mogul Vincent ‘V-Mac’ McDonald, who balances running his label Elevation Records with producing and hosting his popular radio and television shows.
“242Untapped will provide a platform to usher in a new generation of gospel talent,” V-Mac explained. “This groundbreaking competition differs from other competitions because it will serve as a bridge linking industry personnel with undiscovered talent.”
V-Mac noted the industry insiders include the Marlin Awards, record labels, television networks, and radio networks both locally and internationally.
“This is the chance for the nation to be exposed to talent that comes from our waters,” he said. “Through 242Untapped, The Bahamas will know that all of the new and seasoned members of the gospel music industry are united and being used by God to spread the Gospel to the world.”
Right now, singers ready for their big break can sign up exclusively on www.242untapped.com before August 31, 2012 to secure an audition on September 8th in New Providence or September 15th in Grand Bahama. V-Mac added that Facebook fans at www.facebook.com/242untapped will also have the chance to cast their votes to send several lucky singers into the finals.
