The temperatures soar above the 90-degree mark almost daily, but on any of those hot, sweltering days if you happen to be in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, locals will tell of the one place you'd want to be — the Ocean Hole.
It's a place where you will get to enjoy more than just the shade of beautiful native trees but can take in the all-day entertainment of local boys leaping off the steep edge of the "blue hole" rocks while doing tricks mid air. It's a place where you can witness fish jumping impatiently out of the water as little kids attempt to feed them, and seabirds dipping low to catch the fish and the bread crumbs. This is just the typical show one gets at the natural swimming pool.
Now, the Ocean Hole Initiative Project aims to reform the area around the popular spot in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, in order to make it more appealing to tourists, while maintaining the natural beauty that the locals have come to enjoy.
