Pat Burns – Freeport, Bahamas.
"Born and raised in the North of England, I later qualified as a teacher of mathematics and also raised my family. In 1984, as my youngest child was about to leave for college, I embarked on a new life, still teaching mathematics, but based in Freeport, Bahamas.
With my family grown, and with long and frequent school holidays, I began to travel extensively, always with camera in hand, and my interest in photography started to grow. I have been taking pictures ever since.
After retiring from teaching in 1999, I turned my hand to a new venture, and opened a small gift shop, catering to the tourist market, and filled it with goods which I had picked out on my travels around the world. Now, with several shops and a wholesale company, I find I have a perfect outlet for my images of The Bahamas. I have also exhibited locally and sold some of my travel and wildlife pictures to both individuals and local corporate bodies."
